I'm a published author of two books. The Music Teacher was published in 2006. It's an historic fiction set in Columbia City, Indiana and Michigan City, Indiana. Adam Creager falls in love with the beautiful music teacher, Jennifer Andros, at Andros Conservatory in Michigan City, but headmistress Belle Collins forbids them to see each other. Jennifer, after all, is the rightful heir to the music school. Determined to be together Adam and Jennifer hatch a plan for their future. Adam will return to his home in Columbia City, but he promises to return in the spring to marry Jennifer after she inherits the conservatory on her 21st birthday. A few months later Adam learns that Andros Conservatory has burned to the ground and two bodies have been found in the ashes. He returns to Michigan City to find out the truth about the young beautiful music teacher who captured his heart.

In 2007, at the request of my readers, I wrote a sequel titled Creager Farm: A Sequel to The Music Teacher. If you liked The Music Teacher you'll love Creager Farm.

Both books are loosely based on my Creager ancestors who were one of the founding families of Whitley County, Indiana.

I had a true story published in Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul in 2005. Gremlin, Dog First Class tells the story of Gremlin, a small dog rescued in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba during WWII by the United States Navy Bombing Squadron VPB-128. I spent months corresponding with surviving members of the squadron and each of them remembered Gremlin with much fondness. Gremlin went from being an abandoned and abused mutt in Cuba to a respected member of the United States Navy.

I've also been published in the national magazine, Today's Caregiver. This is where I shared my experience of taking care of my mother who died of cancer at the age of 40. Years later I cared for her mother. It's an excellent magazine for caregivers.
