I am a freelance journalist who retired after 35 years as a reporter and editor with newspapers in Georgia, Ohio and Michigan. Most recently, I was an editor on the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Web site, updating breaking news from presidential elections to “American Idol” winners. Currently, I write travel, business and automobile stories; am a fill-in copy editor; and tutor students in writing at a community college. Some retirement. With my wife, Claire – a teaching artist and puppeteer – we have three grown children, five grandchildren, and a rustic cabin in the mountains where we can act like retirees.
