As a teen my objects of desire found their way into love poems. During a painful breakup in college and the help of a creative writing course the poems became stories. Marriage, children, divorce and re-entering the dating scene in my late forties spawned new opportunities for short stories. A career in clinical medicine expanded to medical marketing and publishing over the last decade, allowing my creativity to bloom.

Dealing with the death of my mother over a decade ago taught me that journals were the ideal outlet for my feelings. Often the thoughts we cannot share with others can be freely expressed for our eyes only. Years later an old psychology professor told me journals are one of the best methods of self-therapy. Turns out, they are some of the best sources of stories.

As my aging process continues, I become ever thankful for the journals that help me remember the pain, the joy and the humor life throws my way. Loves lost, career disappointments, and friends who have left this earth can all be revisited in my journals. Of course now there are emails, text messages and social networks to remind us of our daily meanderings along life's path.

I hope you enjoy my subtle humor and my heartfelt love of those who constantly teach me to appreciate all this wonderful life has to offer.
