I was born in Amsterdam NY, in the Mohawk Valley about 50 miles north of Albany. I grew up in Saratoga Springs and moved to Gloversville in the middle of tenth grade so my mother could be closer to her mother. That was over 30 years ago and I'm still complaining about the winters here in the Adirondacks. I'm incredibly busy and people are always telling me I have an incredible work ethic. (they don't see me here in my sweats eating bon bons) I feel like I've accomplished a lot in my life-I was a newswriter and photographer for a daily newpaper for 13 years (about 20 years ago) and left when I had my son. Then my husband and I quit corporate America and went back to nature for a few crazy years chopping wood and milking cows on an old rented farm. I discovered growing vegetables, canning, baking bread and cloth diapers. After a few years of that I longed for the daily grind again. I've been a waitress, bartender, wedding photographer, firefighter, EMT, and now I'm selling chemicals and lipstick...just not at the same time (okay, sometimes at the same time). My husband and I are adjusting to being old enough for AARP and enjoying teasing each other about different parts of our person not being the same as in our 20s (less hair, more grays, etc.) My datebook is always full and I love to laugh and make people feel good.
