I'm a native New Yorker who is by no means a typical New Yorker; that is, if you think of New Yorkers as brash, aggressive, rude know-it-alls, that's not me. But I am an inveterate "culture vulture," in that I love museum visiting, the ballet and musical life. Adore good food and wine (beer, too!) and love to cook when I have time. Have been teaching French over 25 years; have discovered that I can actually rub sentences together and make them coherent to others; an unapologetic Christian (Episcopalian) an am able to see the truth in other faiths; love day trips and finding interesting things in unusual places; am single and am comfortable being by myself (as an only child I've had lots of practice); value friendship, compassion, honesty, humor, good manners, and privacy. I abhor anything that threatens the previous listing.
