<p>Shawna R. B.&nbsp; Atteberry is a freelance writer living in Chicago, IL. Her ministry is to help women who have been silenced and suppressed by a religious tradition. She ministers to women through her blog, Life in the City, <a rel="nofollow" href="">Life in the Spirit</a>, on other sites, and speaking engagements. She is currently working on <em><a rel="nofollow" href="">Career Women of the Bible</a></em>, and she speaks about women in the Bible and women, religion, and spirituality. Her goal is to give women a voice in their religious traditions and use their spiritual and leadership gifts.</p> <p>For six years she was an assistant editor for the daily devotional, <a rel="nofollow" href=";catalogId=WAOL&amp;catSecCd=ADULT&amp;subCatSecCd=SSFAL&amp;subSubCatSecCd=ADULT"><em>Reflecting God: Devotions for Holy Living</em></a>, and then she was an associate editor for the adult Sunday School Curriculum line, <a rel="nofollow" href=";catSecCd=ADULT&amp;subCatSecCd=SSFAL&amp;subSubCatSecCd=ADULT&amp;nid=morin"><em>Faith Connections</em></a>. She has also written for various Christian publications including Christians for Biblical Equality&rsquo;s <a rel="nofollow" href=";ProdID=3805"><em>Mutuality</em></a> and the youth magazine, <a rel="nofollow" href=""><em>Credo</em></a>. She has developed and written newsletters for churches.</p> <p>Shawna&rsquo;s pastoral experience includes assistant pastor for college/young adult ministry, associate pastor of adults, senior pastor, and missions work. She is a member of <a rel="nofollow" href="">Grace Episcopal Church</a>.</p> <p>In addition to writing devotions, Sunday School sessions, and sermons, Shawna also writes short stories and poems. She is currently working on her first book proposal, <em><a rel="nofollow" href="">Career Women of the Bible</a></em>.</p> <p>Shawna has a B. A. in Religion and an M. A. in Theological Studies. Her unpublished thesis is <em><a rel="nofollow" href="">Your Daughters Shall Prophesy: A Biblical Theology of Single Women in Ministry</a>.</em></p>
