When Rachel Sarah, a.k.a., "Single Mom Seeking," became a single mom, Dr. Leah Klungness' book -- The Complete Single Mother -- was the first one she picked up. She kept it by her bed and often just a page or two offered her the common sense and advice she needed.

It was also the book that later inspired Rachel to write her own, Single Mom Seeking. After its publication, fate intervened: both authors were invited to speak at the first-ever Single Moms by Choice Expo, at U.C. Berkeley. The two hit it off as they talked about sex and dating, garnering lots of laughter.

Unfortunately, it seemed unlikely their friendship would progress beyond the occasional e-mail: Dr. Leah lives in New York — and Rachel lives in California.

That's how SingleMommyHood was born: Dr. Leah and Rachel decided they could collaborate online.
Please visit us for inspiration, encouragement, and frank advice.
