How to Set Your Hair for Hold and Volume
If you want your hairstyle to last all day, try these tricks for using your blow-dryer to set and hold your look. With the right product to prep your tresses and a few hairclips to keep your sections in place while you work, you can add tons of volume to your hair for a va-va-voom look that lasts from morning to night.
If you have a few extra minutes during your blow dry, setting your hair in clips can really make a major difference in the volume and hold factor. I'll show you how. To get started, you'll want your hair to be wet or damp. I'm gonna spray mine down with water and also put in some products for volumizing as well. I'm just using a mousse for medium hold. It's very lightweight and creates lots of volume and body. Now, I'm just gonna spray a little volumizing on my roots. Use a brush to get the products through evenly. Next, I'm gonna section my hair out into three partings: one down the middle and one on each side. Next, I'm just gonna blow dry section by section, moving backwards. And, I'm just going to set it in a clip. Basically, all you do is take it out of the brush and wrap it up as if it were in a roller, and pin in place with a little double prong clip. And, continue doing that until you've gone all the way down. Make sure your hair has cooled before you take them out of the clips. And if you want, you can leave them in for much longer for even more hold. And there you have it. Get ready, get set, get volume and hold.
